ESU Announces Plans for Net DECREASE to 2024-2025 Tuition and Fees

Emporia State University President Ken Hush announced the university’s decision to amend the university’s initial recommendation of a tuition + fees increase. ESU is now putting forth a 0% tuition and 0% fee increase which will result in hundreds of dollars of net DECREASE to tuition and fees for each of our students via a reduction of university debt. ESU is able to achieve this decrease as a result of unique transformational efforts and numerous stakeholders all coming together in support of Emporia State’s new vision and action.


Four Students Win Seventh Annual KBHF Essay Contest

Four high school students from across Kansas have won $500 each in the seventh annual Kansas Business Hall of Fame essay contest. The contest was open to students in Grades 9 through 12 in Kansas with entries from homeschooled students also accepted.



William Allen White Children’s Book Winners Announced

Two books with vastly different themes have captured the 2024 William Allen White Children’s Book Awards. One centers on a dog who learns to use her special training for a new purpose. The second looks at two different occurrences of September 11, 18 years apart, through the eyes of two children.


Emporia State, Washburn University School of Law Launch New Academic Partnership

A new academic partnership between Emporia State University and Washburn University School of Law will benefit ESU students who want to become attorneys and help address the problem of legal representation across much of the state. The partnership allows students to complete a bachelor’s degree as well as a law degree in six years.
