Part of 15th Avenue Closes

Blame the wet weather for closing part of 15th Avenue on the Emporia State campus earlier than planned. The street will close between Silent Joe and the southwest corner of Welch Stadium beginning Thursday, May 23.


Eight Students Honored for Scholarships to Emporia State

Emporia State University honored eight students receiving scholarships from the university or Hispanics of Today and Tomorrow. The presentations came during the Cinco de Mayo festival May 4 in downtown Emporia.


Summer Theatre Returns for 65th Season

Emporia State’s Summer Theatre program celebrates its 65th birthday this season. The program was begun in 1955 by Karl C. Bruder and is the longest running summer stock theatre on the Great Plains. Celebrating the past as well as our future, this year’s season features two popular productions from previous seasons. This year’s season features “What I Did Last Summer” (June 12-15), “America’s Songbook, A Musical Revue” (June 26-29), “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, abridged” (July 10-13) and “The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs” (July 24-27).







ESU Students Win Cash for Business Ideas

Two Emporia State students each earned another $2,500 for their ideas for new businesses. Joshua Peck and Anni Paunisaari competed at the Kansas Entrepreneur Challenge at Kansas State University on Tuesday, April 30. Both earned honorable mentions.
