PUBLIC EMPLOYER-EMPLOYEE RELATIONS

Effective: August 15, 2024

Purpose: The purpose of this policy is to acknowledge the University’s commitment to Kansas’ Public Employer-Employee Relations Act and the authority of Kansas’ Public Employee Relations Board to administer the Act.

Scope: This policy applies to all employees covered by Kansas’ Public Employer-Employee Relations Act.

Responsible Office: Human Resources

Policy Statement: The University recognizes Kansas’ Public Employer-Employee Relations Act and the authority of Kansas’ Public Employee Relations Board to administer the Act. As such, the University recognizes the right of its employees to join organizations of their own choice, or to refrain from joining, and be represented by such organizations in their employment relations and dealings with the University.

Definitions: All words and phrases shall be interpreted utilizing their plain meanings unless otherwise defined in University or Board of Regents policy or by statute or regulation.

Procedures: All procedures linked and related to the policies above shall have the full force and effect of policy if said procedures have first been properly approved by the University’s administrator in charge of Human Resources.
