1.02 ROLE OF AFFIRMATIVE ACTION OFFICER AND/OR DESIGNEE AND TITLE IX COORDINATOR

Effective: August 15, 2024

Purpose: To provide information about the duties and responsibilities of the Affirmative Action and the Title IX Coordinator.

Scope: This policy applies to the University campus wide.

Responsible Office: Human Resources; Title IX

Policy Statement: The Affirmative Action Officer and/or designee will assist in the complaint process, however, is not permitted to be an advocate for either party and is obligated to assure fairness to both parties and to protect the University's interests.

The Title IX Coordinator will oversee investigations when the university receives a complaint regarding a violation of Title IX. See ESU Policy 1.03 – Title IX Sexual Harassment, Discrimination, and Retaliation for Employees, Students and Visitors.
