GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS – UNDERGRADUATE
Effective: August 15, 2024
Purpose: To establish graduation requirements for undergraduate students.
Scope: This policy applies to all University undergraduate student’s campus wide.
Responsible Office: Academic Affairs
Policy Statement: Students must complete all degree requirements established by the University, their college, their major and minor (if applicable) prior to being eligible to graduate.
Associate’s Degree
A minimum of sixty (60) hours of credit in courses numbered 100 and above.
- A minimum of fifteen (15) hours must be taken from the University, and
- Six (6) of the final twelve (12) hours must be taken at the University.
Bachelor’s Degree
- A minimum of one hundred twenty (120) hours of credit in courses numbered 100 and above.
- Sixty (60) of which must be taken from a four-year college or university.
- At least forty-five (45) hours of coursework must be numbered 300 or above.
- Thirty (30) of the final forty-five (45) hours and six (6) of the final twelve (12) hours must be taken from the University.
- At least forty-two (42) hours of general education credits are required.
- A cumulative grade point average of at least 2.00 must be achieved on all work taken and at least a 2.00 GPA must be achieved for all credits taken at the University.
Definitions: All words and phrases shall be interpreted utilizing their plain meanings unless otherwise defined in another University or Board of Regents policy or by statute or regulation.
Procedures: All procedures linked and related to the policies above shall have the full force and effect of policy if said procedures have first been properly approved by the University’s administrator in charge of Academic Affairs.
