CONCURRENT UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS

Effective: August 15, 2024

Purpose: To outline the eligibility and restrictions for students to be enrolled in high school and Emporia State University concurrently.

Scope: This policy applies to all University students campus wide.

Responsible Office: Academic Affairs; Registrar’s Office

Policy Statement: Students who are enrolled in high school and wish to take courses as a part-time student at the University may not normally enroll in more than nine (9) credit hours in a semester or summer session.

The application of all credit earned while enrolled as a concurrent undergraduate student toward fulfilling degree requirements will be determined after the student has been admitted to the University and becomes a candidate for a particular degree.

Financial aid is not available for concurrent students.

Definitions: All words and phrases shall be interpreted utilizing their plain meanings unless otherwise defined in another University or Board of Regents policy or by statute or regulation.

Procedures: All procedures linked and related to the policies above shall have the full force and effect of policy if said procedures have first been properly approved by the University’s administrator in charge of Academic Affairs.
