APPLICATION FOR A DEGREE - UNDERGRADUATE

Effective: August 15, 2024

Purpose: To establish a clear and formal process for students to declare their intent to graduate.

Scope: To identify the requirements and steps necessary to apply for an undergraduate degree upon program completion.

Responsible Office: Academic Affairs

Policy Statement: An application for a degree is made when a student has earned sixty (60) to eighty-nine (89) hours. Copies may be found in the academic unit’s office or Registration. The completed form, signed by the student, the advisor, and the academic unit’s supervising administrator, and submitted to Degree Analysis, becomes the official understanding between the University and the student regarding the work to be completed for a major, minor, double major, and second teaching field. The application for a degree is submitted approximately fifteen (15) months prior to the expected date of graduation.

Definitions: All words and phrases shall be interpreted utilizing their plain meanings unless otherwise defined in another University or Board of Regents policy or by statute or regulation.

Procedures: All procedures linked and related to the policies above shall have the full force and effect of policy if said procedures have first been properly approved by the University’s administrator in charge of Academic Affairs.
