National Board Certification is a way for the teaching profession to recognize highly accomplished teaching practices. This program mentors NBCT candidates through face-to-face meetings, phone, and/or email with a dedicated expert in the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards.

The Master of Science in Curriculum & Instruction (C&I) – National Board Certification PreK-12 online prepares you for the review process to become a National Board Certified Teacher.

Emporia State's support of national board candidates begins with an orientation at ESU and other sites, followed by individualized or small cohort support for the portfolio phase of the process delivered primarily on-site and/or by distance delivery; concluding with a workshop at ESU in the spring to help prepare teachers for the assessment center exercises phase of the process.
