Bachelor's of Science (BSE) in Elementary Education Face-to-Face Route
Your degree. Your way.
Face-to-Face Route
Face-to-face route students will experience a college campus environment. Join us on our campus in Emporia, Kansas to engage with our vibrant community while simultaneously pursuing your goal of becoming an elementary teacher.
Students on the face-to-face route complete a year-long student teaching internship during their final two semesters at Emporia State. To prepare for their student teaching internship, students spend time in schools as a regular part of their early courses to develop skills and build confidence.
Elementary education majors on the face-to-face route may elect to add one or more of the following options:
Options
- Paraeducator Option
- Students who select the paraeducator option are employed by a school district as a paraeducator while simultaneously completing courses online or in the evenings. With this option, your duties as a school district employee earn you credit toward your elementary education degree.
- Elementary Education Unified Option
- Students who select the elementary education unified option earn an elementary education unified license, allowing them to work as a K-6 elementary classroom teacher or a special education teacher after graduation.
- Four-Week Opportunities Option
Students who select the four-week opportunities option enhance their student teaching semester with a second student teaching placement.
