Bachelor of Arts - Earth Science
The Earth Science program in the Department of Physical Sciences provides you the opportunity to gain hands-on experience via field studies, laboratory activities, and by offering a wide variety of specialized coursework in geology, atmospheric science, hydrogeology, oceanography, geomorphology, paleontology, geographic information systems (GIS), and remote sensing.
When you study at Emporia State University, you receive personalized mentoring and professional instruction from Earth Science professors who are experts in their field. Our Earth Science faculty are dedicated to student success, both in and out of the classroom. You will collaborate with professors to develop a research project, present research at local or national conferences, and contribute toward publication.

Program Resources
As a student at ESU, you'll have access to 2 Labs (“Clean & Dirty”); GeoSpatial Analysis (GSA) lab; Johnston Geology Museum Research Collection; Planetarium; Earth Science reading room; Hamilton Fossil Quarry; Field Hydrology, teaching and research station and ESU Natural Areas. You can also network with other students through the Earth Science Club and the Environmental Sustainability Club.
