STEM Outreach Programs Inspired by Math

Inspired by Math

The Inspired by Math program is funded by Evergy, Emporia State University and Emporia Middle School.

Inspired By Math is a math enrichment, STEM outreach program for 6th-8th grade students in the Emporia area. The program consists of two components for students to participate in during the year.

A four-day summer camp is held on the ESU campus where students use their math skills doing hands-on activities such as 3D design/printing, coding, chemistry and origami. The summer camp allows students to see what the weekly after-school program is like.

Questions about the camp should be directed to Holly Hollenbeck at hhollenb@emporia.edu

Camp Capacity: 20 students

Camp Cost: $25 per student

During the school year, students can choose to participate in the once-a-week, after-school program. Students will practice their math skills to prepare for some math competitions/field trips in the spring during this time. Guest speakers will also visit the club to lead hands-on workshops for the students throughout the year.
