Parents + Families Student Involvement
The benefits to getting involved are endless
Involvement = taking it further
Taking part in community service opportunities, becoming a tutor, getting an internship, joining the symphony or participating in the Honors College are all ways students can engage with their peers, get experience as a member of a team and enrich their lives.
Student Organizations
The Center for Student Involvement has 100+ registered student organizations on campus for them to choose from and find a club or group that will be something they enjoy taking part in.
Associated Student Government
Associated Student Government’s sole purpose is to be the voice of the students, for the students. Being a member of ASG provides networking opportunities, creates spaces to meet with administration around campus, allows you to vote on legislation that directly impacts the students you represent, and, most of all, it will be the beginning of friendships that will last a lifetime.
Fraternity + Sorority Life
The Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL) community at Emporia State University is dedicated to encouraging students to become contributing members of the campus and Emporia community. ESU has 12 chapters.
Other types of involvement
Debate at Emporia State
ESU Debate is a competitive and successful academic organization on campus, taking home three national championships and numerous other awards. Students of any major can be part of the team.
ESU Marching Hornets
The Emporia State Marching Hornets is open to students of any major who love music and want to be a part of one of ESU’s great traditions. Your student will be able to perform at games, take part in festivals and possibly travel to bowl games and other events.
Intramural Sports
If your student wants to compete but isn’t interested in college athletics, intramurals may be the activity for them. All students are welcome to participate in intramural sports and there are a variety of games and competitions throughout the year.
The Bulletin
ESU’s student newspaper, The Bulletin, is another opportunity for your student to engage in campus activities.
