Two awards will be presented during the award and recognition ceremony on Research and Creativity Day on Thursday, April 28, at Emporia State University.
King Lake, on the northern edge of Emporia State University and I-35, will soon be Kansas' newest waterbody open to the public for fishing, thanks to an ongoing partnership between Emporia State and the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks (KDWP). Positioned in front of ESU's newly constructed Prophet Aquatic Research and Outreach Center, King Lake's fishery will be managed by ESU students enrolled in Fish Ecology and Fisheries Management courses, with the guidance of Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks fisheries biologists.
Plans are on the table to move the ESU Department of Nursing to the university’s campus, which will benefit both Emporia State University and Newman Regional Health. The entire process, which involves gaining approval from the State of Kansas and Kansas Board of Regents, along with soliciting bids, has a timeline of two years.
Emporia State University Theatre presents “The Constant Wife” by W. Somerset Maugham April 28 through May 1 at the Karl C. Bruder Theatre. Performances April 28, 29 and 30 are at 7:30 p.m., and May 1 at 2 p.m.
