Public Comments Sought for Emporia State Reaccreditation

Emporia State University is seeking comments from the public about the university in preparation for its periodic evaluation by its regional accrediting agency. The university will host a visit October 29-31, 2018, with a team representing the Higher Learning Commission. Emporia State University has been accredited by the Commission since 1915. The team will review the institution’s ongoing ability to meet the Commission’s Criteria for Accreditation.



Research & Creativity Celebrated on Wednesday

James Patterson Teacher Education Scholarship open to incoming freshman education majors

The Teachers College at Emporia State University is pleased to announce a scholarship opportunity for incoming freshman planning to major in elementary or secondary education. For the fifth year in a row, the Teacher Education Scholarship from international best-selling author James Patterson, will be awarded to six incoming freshmen in education. The $6,000 renewable scholarships will be awarded to eligible applicants for the 2018-2019 academic year. Applications for the scholarship are open now through 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, May 31, 2018.


Memorial at Emporia State to Get National Recognition

Legislation to recognize the Memorial to Fallen Educators at Emporia State University as a national memorial is headed to the desk of President Donald Trump after passage today by the U.S. House of Representatives.
