Speaker Focuses on Emporia’s Carnegie Libraries

Emporia’s Carnegie libraries are the focus of a special presentation at Emporia State University celebrating National Library Week. This year’s National Library Week is April 10 through 16 with the theme “Libraries Transform.”

Dr. Matthew Griffis, assistant professor at the University of Southern Mississippi, School of Library and Information Science, will speak on “Town and Gown: Celebrating the Carnegie Libraries of Emporia, Kansas.” The free event will be from 3 to 4 p.m. Thursday, April 14, in the Memorial Union’s Blue Key Leadership Room on the Emporia State University campus.
