There is still time to register for the 4th Annual Nitty Gritty Dirt Dash. Wednesday, April 13, is the close of pre-registration that includes a T-shirt.
The dirt dash, a warrior-style race, is Saturday, April 23, at the Trusler Sports Complex. Check-in begins at 9 a.m. that day with the dash starting at 10. Registration costs $15 for youths age 14 to 17 and $25 for adults. Registration, with guarantee of a T-shirt, will be available on-site.

The event is sponsored by the Emporia State University organizations — Student Recreation Center, Associated Student Government, Community Hornets and Union Activities Council. Proceeds go to local nonprofit groups Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Flint Hills, Camp Alexander and Emporia Child Care.
