Emporia Symphony Orchestra to Present ‘Sounds of Christmas’ on Dec. 2

The sounds of the holiday season will ring out in Albert Taylor Hall when the Emporia Symphony Orchestra presents “Sounds of Christmas” on Monday, Dec. 2 at 7:30 p.m.

The ESO is an ensemble made up of ESU students and community members led by Joshua Shepherd, ESU music assistant professor and music director.

Attendees can look forward to holiday favorites like "Carol of the Bells," "Silent Night," "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" and "The Christmas Song." Scott Wichael, ESU music associate professor, joins the orchestra for a vocal performance.

The concert is benefiting SOS, a local nonprofit organization whose mission is to empower and advocate for those affected by sexual and domestic violence, stalking, human trafficking, child abuse and neglect. There are no ticket sales; rather, concertgoers are asked to donate $5 per person, which will go directly to SOS.
