A travel-themed math and science activity night, hosted by the Emporia State math and science departments, will be Feb. 27 at Emporia Middle School.
The math night, organized Dr. Connie Schrock, a professor of mathematics at ESU, has been a community-wide event for the last 25 years. In 2016, the activity-filled family night drew approximately 1,000 participants. This year will be the first that the science department is involved.
Participants will have a variety of engaging activities to take part in, all centered around adventure and travel. There will be entertainment for all ages, as well as prizes given out during the event.
Emporia Middle School Mathematics and Science Family Night is open to students of all grade levels. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 27, and lasts until 8:30 p.m., with the final prizes given out at 8:15 p.m.
