High school students looking to boost their leadership skills are encouraged to attend one of two Adaptive Leadership Summer Camps offered by the Honors College at Emporia State University.
The program empowers high school student to learn how to work with others to make progress on some of the most daunting issues faced by their communities.
Taught by Honors College students and Kansas Leadership Center Faculty in Residence at Emporia State, the two-day camps use hands-on and collaborative activities so participants can learn the principles and competencies of adaptive leadership developed at Harvard University and at KLC, which is based in Wichita.
“If ever there was a time when true leadership is needed, that time is now,” said Dr. Gary Wyatt, ESU associate provost and director of the Honors College. “Our mission with the Adaptive Leadership Summer Camps is to provide high school students with an experience that will empower and motivate them to engage with others in addressing the challenges faced by their communities.”
Two camp sessions will be offered:
- Thursday and Friday, July 7 and 8 and
- Wednesday and Thursday, July 13 and 14
