Emporia State Summer Theatre presents the second show the season with “The Dinner Party.” Written by Neil Simon, this romantic comedy involves six people invited to dine at a fine Parisian restaurant, unaware of who the other guests will be or why they were invited.
Tossed together in a private dining room, Andre Bouville (Elliott Brest, Tonganoxie), Yvonne Fouchet (Fran Opheim, Olathe), Gabrielle Buonocelli (Paige Lundin, Valley Center), Mariette Levieux (Lisa Tinker, Derby), Claude Pichon (Mitchell Hoover, Oxford), and Albert Donay (Logan Wohlford, Valley Center) all have a sneaking suspicion that this unorthodox dinner party will forever change their lives. Frequently hilarious but also dangerously serious, “The Dinner Party” is an invitation you’ll be glad to accept.
“The Dinner Party” is under the direction of Bob Hart. Assisting with the production are technical director Chris Lohkamp, scenographer Rick Rassmussen, sound designer Andrew McCutcheon (Gardner), production stage manager Dustin Bittel (Ellis), and assistant stage manager Rachel Muirhead (Hays).
“The Dinner Party” runs June 29 through July 2 at 7:30 pm. All performances will be in the Karl C. Bruder Theatre located at 1301 Market St. For tickets to this performance, visit the Memorial Union Ticket Office or call 620-341-6378.
