ESU Announces Hornet Nation Rising Initiative

Emporia State University Announces Hornet Nation Rising Initiative

To maintain the momentum of the most successful fundraising campaign in the history of Emporia State University, a focused fundraising initiative has been announced, Hornet Nation Rising. Efforts from previous fundraising efforts resulted in the renovation of several learning spaces on campus to include the latest technology and new collaboration spaces for our students, as well as improvements to some athletic facilities improvements.

Hornet Nation Rising is committed to growing ESU by investing in some of ESU’s valued traditions. The top priorities for continued advancement:

Student Scholarships. Presidential Scholarships are one of the most powerful and impactful ways to attract and retain today’s students and tomorrow’s leaders. These scholarships provide exceptional higher education opportunities for all students.

Campus Facilities. Providing state-of-the-art learning facilities and living communities are competitive musts for today’s students – and have been proven to increase student success rates. ESU has initiated several exciting projects that will bring high-impact learning experiences to students for generations to come including an Aquatic Research Outreach Center and a brand-new residence hall slated to open fall 2019.

Endowed Professorships. ESU faculty have a tradition of providing academic excellence to offer distinctive curricula and academic programs. This is why we will honor iconic ESU Professors by funding new professorships through our Honoring ESU Legends initiative. You can honor the professor or coach who made a difference in your life by giving to an endowed professorship in their name.

Hornet Athletics. Strong and successful athletics programs are the cornerstone of school pride and memories – for student-athletes, students, prospective students, fans and the community. Our Creating Champions initiative will strengthen existing programs through scholarships and facilities enhancements which will help us continue to recruit student-athletes who are highly competitive in the classroom and on the playing field.
