Dr. Kristie Ogilvie, dean of the School of Business, is leaving Emporia State University.
The provost of Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina, today announced Ogilvie as the new dean of the college’s School of Business. Like Emporia State’s School of Business, Meredith’s is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate School of Business, or AACSB.
“I feel very blessed for my time at Emporia State and the tremendous support given to the School of Business,” said Ogilvie. “I thank each and every person I have met, and my experience has been wonderful. “
Ogilvie came to Emporia State in 2013 after serving at the California State University in San Bernadino. She earned a bachelor’s degree with a marketing concentration from California State University at Sacramento, a master’s of business administration degree from University of Tulsa and advanced research certificate and doctorate of business administration from Grenoble Ecole de Management.
During her tenure at Emporia State, the School of Business launched a collaborative entrepreneurship competition with the Emporia community and Flint Hills Technical College, as well as fully online MBA and both on-ground and online Masters of Accountacy programs; established a Business Success Center; and used donor-funded initiatives to establish directors of internships and career, research and accreditation.
“Kristie Ogilvie has brought energy, vision and passion to her work as dean,” said Dr. David Cordle, provost and vice president for academic affairs. “We will soon turn our attention to identifying Dean Ogilvie’s successor, but for today we’re just grateful for her contributions to the School of Business. ESU wishes Kristie the best in her new appointment.”
