Communication, Emerging Technology & Society Concentration
The Bachelor of Science in communication provides students interested in professional and managerial positions with a broad range of communication skills. Students pursuing the BS in communication are required to complete 48 hours of communication coursework, including 21 hours of communication core classes, 15 hours in a concentration, and 12 hours of communication electives.
What you can do with this degree
Prepares students to contribute to a variety of evolving positions related to social media and content creation, project management, user experience, design and innovation, and entrepreneurship. Students explore communication theory and practice related to emerging technologies and their implications for relationships, organizations, and society. Students gain skills in design thinking, ethical reasoning, data collection and analysis, and leadership and collaboration. Course offerings expose students to critical conversations on the relationship between communication and emerging technologies.
