Thanks to the generosity of alumni, faculty, staff and friends, Emporia State University offers a renewable Presidential Scholarship to new incoming freshmen and transfers.

*Total Financial Aid + Stackable Scholarships shall not exceed the total cost of attendance.

It is not necessary to complete a separate application if you qualify for these scholarships. Your admission application and transcripts are used to determine your eligibility.

Incoming, Full-Time and Degree Seeking Undergraduate Students

Incoming freshmen beginning at ESU in the fall semester who qualify for this scholarship can renew their scholarship for three years after the first academic year when they maintain a 3.0 or higher ESU GPA and complete 24 ESU credit hours.

Each year the student must complete a minimum of 24 ESU credit hours in the combined fall, spring and trailing summer semester and achieve a 3.0 cumulative ESU GPA. Amounts shown are the amount awarded per year.

New incoming freshmen beginning at ESU in the spring semester are eligible for half of the award amount in the spring semester and must complete 12 total hours for the combined spring and summer semesters with a 3.0 ESU GPA to be eligible for renewal.

Students starting in the spring semester are eligible to renew the Presidential Scholarship for seven additional semesters after their first semester at ESU, and must complete the required 24 ESU credit hours in the combined fall, spring and trailing summer semesters with a 3.0 cumulative ESU GPA.

Transfer Students

Incoming transfers with 24 or more transferrable credit hours beginning at ESU in the fall semester who qualify for this scholarship can renew their scholarship for one year after the first academic year (four total semesters) when they maintain a 3.0 or higher ESU GPA and complete 24 ESU credit hours.

Each year the student must complete a minimum of 24 ESU credit hours in the combined fall, spring and trailing summer semester and achieve a 3.0 cumulative ESU GPA. Amounts shown are the amount awarded per year.

Incoming transfers with 24 or more transferrable credit hours starting ESU in the spring semester are eligible for half of the award amount in the spring semester and must complete 12 total hours for the combined spring and summer semesters with a 3.0 ESU GPA to be eligible for renewal.

Incoming transfer students who do not have 24 or more transferrable hours may defer to freshman requirements for their scholarship award amount.

Requirements

  • To receive the scholarship, students must submit all official transcripts from all universities attended.
  • All official transcripts must be received by the *20th day of your start semester. Students who start in the summer semesters will follow fall term guidelines/requirements and awards will be disbursed during the fall semester. 20th day: Fall 2024: Sept. 16, 2024, Spring 2025: Feb. 10, 2025; Fall 2025: Sept. 15, 2025.
  • Students must enroll in at least 12 credit hours per fall and spring semester in order to receive this scholarship.
