Financial Resource programs

On-Campus

The following are resources offering support if you are a student in need of financial resources or help seeking employment:

  • Career Services
    • Career Services can provide career coaching, resume and cover letter review as well as job interviewing skill-building. Career Services can also help you find and apply for part-time jobs, full-time jobs and internships.
  • Educational Opportunity Fund
    • This is an opportunity for students and departments to receive financial aid. Contact the ASG president at asgpres@emporia.edu for more information.
  • Emergency Loan Application
    • ESU provides emergency loan assistance of up to $250. Students can request information and the application by reaching out to cashier@emporia.edu
  • Financial Aid Review
    • Income on the FAFSA is two tax years behind. You can request a review of that income in cases where you and/or a parent have experienced a reduction or loss of income. To begin, complete the Professional Judgement Consideration Form.
  • Scholarship Portal 
    • Browse the library of scholarships available for current and future Emporia State students and apply for relevant opportunities. 


Emporia and Greater Lyon County

  • East Central Kansas Economic Opportunity Corporation (ECKAN)
    • In addition to housing- and food-related services, ECKAN has additional programs to support Lyon County residents. ECKAN can provide L-Cat bus passes for individuals and families in work programs that need temporary transportation support. ECKAN is also launching a laundry program providing wash cards for qualifying individuals and families. Contact ECKAN at 620-342-4607 to learn more.
  • United Way of the Flint Hills
    • The local United Way can connect individuals with community resources. The United Way also supports 211, a free and confidential service that helps people across North America find the local resources they need 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
