School of Library and Information Management Scholarships
There are multiple scholarship opportunities available to SLIM students each academic year. For more information for each scholarship, please visit the ESU Scholarship Library. To apply for SLIM scholarships, please contact your advisor for details.

Diversity Scholarship Match
As funds permit, SLIM will match up to $20,000 total per academic year in scholarships dispersed to current SLIM MLS students from scholarship funds offered by the following American Library Association offices and ethnic affiliates:
- American Library Association Office for Diversity
- Asian Pacific American Library Association (APALA)
- American Indian Library Association (AILA)
- Chinese American Library Association (CALA)
- Black Caucus (BCALA)
- Latinos and the Spanish Speaking Library Association (REFORMA)
Students must provide documentation of the scholarship award to their advisor prior to the beginning of the semester for which the scholarship is applicable. Documents which are accepted include: a copy of the award certificate, a copy of the award letter sent by the organization, a copy of the scholarship check or a newspaper article. The document must include:
- Scholarship name
- Recipient's name
- Scholarship dollar amount
- Semester or academic year to which the scholarship is applicable.
Beta Phi Mu-Beta Epsilon Chapter
The Beta Epsilon Chapter offers multiple scholarships annually to outstanding Master of Library Science student(s) who demonstrate(s) scholarly achievement. Please visit the Beta Epsilon Scholarship page for complete scholarship information.
ESU Graduate School

EOF Student Scholarships
ESU’s Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) provides academic need-based grants, including awards to students with special expenses, such as childcare, or students who have been historically under-represented in higher education. American Library Association
The American Library Association (ALA) is committed to promoting and advancing the librarian profession. To demonstrate this commitment, the ALA and its units provide more than $300,000 annually for study in a master's degree in library and information studies from an ALA accredited program, or for a master's degree in school library media program that meets the ALA curriculum guidelines for a National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) accredited unit.
